AWS AI Engineer

Location: Washington, DC metro area (Hybrid)
Clearance Required: Public Trust Minimum (US Citizen)

Overview: Praescient Analytics is actively seeking an experienced AWS AI Engineer to support a current contract with the Department of Justice. The AWS AI Engineer is responsible for designing and developing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models using AWS platforms in support of DOJ missions. This role supports cloud-based intelligent automation, data-driven decision-making, and mission-focused analytics using secure, scalable, and complient AWS services.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Design blueprints AI/ML workloads using AWS services such as SageMaker, Rekognition, Comprehend, Textract, and Lambda.
• Collaborate with data scientists, cloud engineers, and mission stakeholders to identify use cases and technical approaches for AI-driven solutions.
• Support end-to-end lifecycle of ML development including feature engineering, model tuning, and monitoring using tools like SageMaker Pipelines and Glue.
• Optimize AI/ML workflows to ensure compliance with FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 controls. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. Master’s preferred. 
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with at least 2 years of hands on experience in cloud environments. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, sharing ideas and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Prior experience supporting Federal programs
• Certifications: AWS-based certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
