Your mission

Be the hands-on expert who keeps four automated assembly lines and related injection molding and metal-processing automation running at peak performance—while translating floor fixes into sustainable, data-backed projects. Expect ~80% on-floor troubleshooting and ~20% project work that springs from your discoveries.

  • Contribute to FMEA, APQP, and Control Plan development and review.
  • Build investment proposals for tooling, equipment, and indirect materials.
  • Lead complex machine acceptance and commissioning activities.
  • Engage approved suppliers for indirect materials; solicit and assess quotes.

  • Author and refine work instructions that technicians can trust.
  • Design automation concepts; partner with Industrial Engineering to industrialize new projects and implement solutions.
  • Shape and coordinate robust solution concepts from feasibility through implementation.
  • Perform technical feasibility checks on machine/electrical design; select/modify components.
  • Design and build smaller-scale but complex process solutions.
  • Extend and enhance existing processes, functions, and systems.
  • Commission processes and measuring systems for production readiness.
  • Program machine controls and teach robots to spec.
  • Own equipment safety—plan and execute feasibility tests and write specifications.
  • Locate savings opportunities and realize them.
  • Kick off optimization initiatives, including partial process redesigns and manufacturing changes.
  • Drive 8D activities internally and with customers; analyze complex alarms and eliminate root causes.
  • Maintain accurate automation maintenance histories and share knowledge via SharePoint.
  • Provide cross-BU support for complex process changes and escalations.
  • Investigate complaints to root cause; implement corrective actions.
  • Plan spare parts strategies and place orders.
  • Train team members on equipment; develop training materials.
  • Mentor interns and bachelor’s students.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, safety, and company/BU standards.
  • Launch statistically designed experiments to boost quality, cut cost, advance safety, and increase earnings.
  • Support Quality in confirming process parameters and monitoring quality-related devices.
  • Provide on-call support as required.
