Intro
Contoro Robotics is an Austin, Texas-based startup building AI-powered industrial robots to transform warehouse operations. Our mission is to deliver reliable robots that solve real-world labor shortages while pushing the boundaries of human-in-the-loop robotics. We are looking for intelligent and ambitious Deployment Engineers to help us support our growth across the US.
Expected Role
This role will be based at one of our customer warehouse sites in Ottawa, IL. We are seeking a local candidate who can directly support this client, as the primary work site will be at their warehouse. The position will also involve occasional business trips to our headquarters in Austin, TX, with the potential for additional travel depending on future customer needs. Therefore, flexibility and openness to travel are important. When working from our Austin office, the employee will participate in software and hardware testing, provide feedback to development teams, and contribute to improving the overall quality of our service.
Job Responsibility
Deploy robots at the customer sites and support/train customers on how to use our robots.
Troubleshoot and debug electro-mechanical issues.
Communicate with the warehouse customers to understand their demand and pain points while using our technology.
Deliver and document the customer feedback to the Development teams whether that be product issues, complaints, or improvements.
Coordinate schedule in alignment with customer expectations.
Test new software and hardware while at our Austin headquarters

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
Enjoy traveling across the U.S. up to 50% of the workdays.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix and command line
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly explain technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage projects independently.
Willing to work on hands-on tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with Robot Operating System (ROS).
Experience with object oriented programming (Python or C++).
Experience deploying and commissioning autonomous or complex technical systems.
Be able to demonstrate a history of effective leadership and team management.
Experience with ticket management system (Jira,)
Comfortable driving large vehicles.
Willing to learn how to drive a forklift.
Warehouse experience.
Spanish bilingual.
